WAYNESBURG, Pa. (June 24) – Three members of the Waynesburg University men's track & field program earned spots on the 2024-25 Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators, on Tuesday.

Recent graduate Ryan Zawislak (Rochester, Pa. / Rochester) and rising juniors Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) and Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) all received the honor for the first time in their careers.

To qualify for Academic All-District honors in track & field, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and hold an individual top-50 regional ranking in an event, either indoor or outdoor, as listed by TFRRS at the time of nomination.

Zawislak, who graduated with a 3.99 GPA in health & exercise science (pre-physical therapy), capped his career by scoring at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships in the discus with a personal-best throw of 39.72 meters. That mark ranked him 34th in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Harker, a criminal justice major with a 3.91 GPA, was a USTFCCCA All-Region selection in the shot put for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He swept PAC titles in the event and set team records in the shot put, hammer throw, and weight throw during a standout sophomore campaign. He ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic in the shot put during the indoor season and finished tied for fifth outdoors.

Casella, who studies business management and holds a 3.87 GPA, picked up All-PAC Honorable Mention honors as part of Waynesburg's third-place 4x400-meter relay at the PAC Indoor Championships. Outdoors, he contributed to a pair of fourth-place finishes at the PAC Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles (58.07) and 4x400 relay (3:26.23). His hurdles time ranked 27th in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and he added a meet title in the event at the Mountaineer Twilight.

The Academic All-District program honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and the classroom.
