ALLISON PARK, Pa. (Sept. 22) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team traveled to Wildwood Golf Course on Monday to compete in the La Roche Invitational. The Yellow Jackets placed eighth in the 14-team field with a four-man score of 342.
The Yellow Jackets were led by senior
Hudson Pincavitch (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central), who carded a team-best score of eight-over 80 on the par 72 course, which was good for a 10
th-place tie in the 73-man competition. He was followed by fellow senior
Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin), who tied for 17
th place with an 82.
Sophomore
Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) and junior
Nate Barnhart (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) completed the scoring four after both posting 51
st-place marks of 90.
Sophomore
Braden Benke (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) competed as an individual for the Yellow Jackets and fired a 55
th-place tally of 93
Pitt Greensburg (A) won the team title after posting a field-best score of 311. Individual medalist honors went to Pitt Greensburg's Zachary Abdallah, who topped the field with a three-over 75.
Waynesburg returns to the course on Saturday, Sept. 27, when it takes part in the Franciscan Fall Invitational at Steubenville (Ohio) Country Club. Tee time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
