CANONSBURG, Pa. (April 13) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team traveled to Southpointe Golf Club to compete in the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational, which was hosted by Washington & Jefferson College. The Yellow Jackets placed seventh out of nine teams with a four-man score of 361.
Waynesburg was led by senior
Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin), who tied for sixth place out of 48 golfers with an 11-over par score of 84. Sophomore
Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) tied for 26
th place with a 15-over 88.

Braden Benke (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) tallied a 17-over score of 90, while sophomore
Brady Donovan (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Brentwood) and junior
Nate Barnhart (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) tied for the fourth-and-final scoring spot with identical scores of 99.
Mount Union won the team title with a four-man score of 329. The Purple Raiders also boasted the event's individual medalist in Brian Myers, who won by four strokes with a one-over 74.
The Jackets return to competition on Monday, April 20, at the McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational, which is being hosted by Grove City at Grove City Country Club. Tee time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
