YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Feb. 26) – The Waynesburg University women's indoor track and field team traveled to Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on Thursday to compete in the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Yellow Jackets finished seventh out of 11 teams at the event.

The unquestioned leader of the Jackets at the meet was junior Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, Md. / Watkins Mill), who found the podium in a whopping four events and competed in a fifth.

Her top performance came in the 400 meters, where she took bronze with a time of 1:00.02. She added a fourth-place showing in the 200 meters after crossing the finish line in 26.74 seconds. Rishell logged a pair of fifth-place efforts with one coming on the track and the other coming in the jump pits. She joined senior Ella Boothe (Fredericktown, Pa. / Beth-Center), junior JaLisa Fuller (Latrice, Ind. / Lawrence Central) and freshman Adaire Settles (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) to produce the number-five time in the 4x400-meter relay (4:18.23). Her final addition to the team total came in the triple jump, where she posted a hop, skip and a jump of 9.93 meters.

As if all that wasn't enough, Rishell also competed in the long jump.

Freshman Miracle Hershey (Lebanon County, Pa. / New Covenant Christian) earned a medal in her first PAC championship meet by posting the number-five time in the 60-meter dash (8.16 seconds). She was even faster in the preliminaries, where she qualified for the finals with a mark of 8.14 seconds.

The Jackets put two on the podium in the 5,000 meters thanks to the freshman-senior duo of Erin Belveal (Bay Village, Ohio / Bay) and Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence). Belveal took sixth with a time of 19:07.69 and Tanksley followed closely behind with the number-seven mark of 19:07.92.

Geneva took home the team title with 127 points.

The Jackets will compete indoors one more time this year when they travel to Ohio Northern University's Polar Bear Final Qualifier on Saturday, March 7.
