WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 15) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team fell to visiting Allegheny College by the final score of 18-2 on Thursday night at John F. Wiley Stadium.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fell to 1-8 on the season, while Allegheny improved to 5-7.
Allegheny built up a 12-0 lead at halftime and led 13-0 in the second period before Waynesburg's Mandy Ormsby scored the Yellow Jackets' first goal of the night. It was her team-leading 12th score of the season. The Gators responded by tallying the next four goals before freshman Chelsea Puharic made it 16-2 with her third goal of the year.
Sophomore Erin Burry got the start and played all 60 minutes for Waynesburg. She made seven saves on the evening.
After playing their last three games at home, Waynesburg hits the road on Saturday, April 17, to face Lancaster Bible College. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
