TRAFFORD, Pa. (May 8) – Waynesburg University women's lacrosse freshman
Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) was named as an All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Honorable Mention, the league announced on Tuesday.
Lorne set a pair of NCAA Division III records relating to caused turnovers. Set became Division III's single-season recordholder with 110 caused turnovers and 6.47 caused turnovers per game. In Waynesburg's 8-6 win over Sweet Briar, she caused an NCAA season-high and Waynesburg record 19 turnovers.
In addition to leading the nation in caused turnovers caused turnovers per game, she led Division III with 113 ground ball and 6.65 ground balls per game. Lorne set Waynesburg's single-game ground balls mark with 14 at Thiel.
Lorne set Waynesburg single-season records for ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls (80). After just one season of competition, Lorne ranks first in program history in career caused turnovers, second in ground balls and fourth in draw controls. Her 4.71 draw controls per game ranked sixth in the PAC.
Lorne led Waynesburg offensively in goals (32), assists (4) and points (36) in 2024.
Ella Grimes (McMurray, Pa. / Hillcrest Christian Academy) was the Jackets' representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
