Day 1 Results
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. (April 19) – After one day of competition at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Golf Championships, the Waynesburg University men's golf team is in fifth place out of the seven teams competing.
Senior Ryan Work led the Yellow Jackets with an 18-hole total of 81, which tied him for 17th place out of the 40 golfers competing. Junior Kevin McIlwain followed with an 83, which put him a two-way tie for 21st place. Junior Kyle Kyper added an 85, which put him in a log jam at 23rd place, and Josh Mollica had his 34th-place total of 88 was the fourth score counted for the Jackets.
As a team, the Jackets fired a 337. The top individual performances of the day were turned in by Washington & Jefferson's Ted Marron and Saint Vincent's Jeff Varga, who both carded one-over scores of 72. W&J had the top four-man team score of the day (304).
The Waynesburg men return to the course on Tuesday, and will be joined by senior Kristen Lucci, who will be representing Waynesburg as an individual in the PAC Women's Golf Championships.
