GROVE CITY, Pa. (April 26) – Senior Ryan Work produced a top-10 finish for the Waynesburg University men's golf team at Monday's Grove City College McBride-Behringer-Allen 'MBA' Invitational, which was held at the Grove City Country Club.
Work's 18-hole score of 77 (41-36) tied him with five other competitors at ninth place. He was the top individual performer for the Yellow Jackets, who finished in eighth place out of nine competing teams with a four-man score of 335. Senior Josh Mollica fired Waynesburg's second lowest score, a 79 (37-42), to finish in a tie for 17th place.
Junior Kyle Kyper shot an 88 (44-44) to finish in 41st place, while junior Kevin McIlwain carded a 91 (44-47) to tie for the 43rd spot, as did freshman Colin Wilson. It was the final scheduled competition for the Waynesburg men's golf team of the 2010 season.
NAIA school Notre Dame (Ohio) won the event with a 304, and was followed closely by Saint Vincent, which fired a 307. The top three of the invitational was rounded out by Point Park, which put together a four-man score of 311. Top individual honors went to Point Park's Darin Kowalski, who shot a 71 (32-39).
