Women's lacrosse suffers home loss to Allegheny

Yellow Jackets fall 19-2 to Gators

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 27) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-2 loss at the hands of Allegheny College during a sunny afternoon at John F. Wiley Stadium.
 
The Yellow Jackets (1-6) fell behind 13-0 before senior Maria Shepas broke up the shutout late in the first half. Junior Mandy Ormsby tallied the Yellow Jackets' other goal with 9:36 showing on the clock. Senior Erin Burry got the start in net for Waynesburg and made 16 saves, while also scooping up a game-high 12 ground balls.
 
The Jacket women are back in action on Thursday, March 29, when they travel to Wooster to take on the Fighting Scots. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
