Women's lacrosse hosts Allegheny

Yellow Jackets fall 21-1 to Gators under snowy skies

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 2) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team played its home opener on Saturday at John F. Wiley Stadium. The Yellow Jackets hosted Allegheny College under snowy skies and dropped a 21-1 contest.
 
Waynesburg (0-2) got its lone goal from senior Mandy Ormsby with 22:27 left to play in the first half. The Gators (3-0) built an 18-1 halftime lead before finishing off their victory. Freshman goalkeeper JoHanna Phillips made 15 saves in goal and played all 48:26 of the game, which was called with 11:34 still showing on the scoreboard clock.
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, March 5, when they host Franciscan. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
