Women's lacrosse travels to West Virginia Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (April 18) – The Waynesburg University women's lacrosse team traveled to Buckhannon, W.Va. to square off with West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets wound up on the wrong end of a 16-4 score.
 
After falling behind 2-0, the Jackets (2-7) got on the board thanks to Mandy Ormsby, who found the back of the net 2:31 into the contest. The Bobcats (4-10) responded with three-straight goals before Waynesburg bounced back with two tallies of its own. Freshman Makayla Vidosh scored to make the score 5-2 in favor of the home team, and Ormsby posted her second tally of the contest to pull her team to within two points (5-3) with 20:43 remaining in the first half.
 
Wesleyan went off on a 9-0 run that lasted through halftime and into period number two to build up a 14-3 advantage. Vidosh fired in one more goal with just over nine minutes left to play to close up the scoring for the Jackets at 14-4.
 
Sophomore JoHanna Phillips made 10 saves over 60 minutes in net.
 
Waynesburg wraps up its regular season schedule on Saturday, April 20, with a road trip to Saint Vincent College. Start time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
