GREENVILLE, Pa. (Dec. 6) – The Waynesburg University track & field team opened up the indoor portion of its season at Friday's West Virginia University Open. Freshman Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) got his collegiate track career off to a strong start and for his efforts, he was named Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week
Hillard finished as the runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 31 feet, 01.75 inches (9.49m) at WVU. He also tied for fourth in the shot put with a throw of 35-08 (10.87m).
