NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 9) – The Waynesburg University men's track & field team competed in Saturday's Westminster Invitational. There was no team scoring at the meet.
The Yellow Jacket men were paced on the track by sophomore
Cole Thiec (Stoneborough, Pa. / Lakeview), who placed 10
th in the 400-meters with a time of 1:03.89. Freshman
Zach Berrott (Plum, Pa. / Plum) was 12
th in the 100-meter dash thanks to a time of 11.78 seconds, while sophomore
Jac Cokley (Cochranton, Pa. / Cochranton) was solid in turning in the 20
th-place time in the 5,000 meters (16:29.16).
Waynesburg was led in the field events by freshman thrower
Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville), who posted a top-10 finish in the shot put with the ninth-place toss of 11.95 meters (39-2.47).
Waynesburg is scheduled to be back in action on Saturday, April 16, when it takes part in the Thiel College Tomcat Invitational.
