NEW ORLEANS (March 6) -- Graduate student distance runner
Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Indoor Track and Field Team for his record-breaking 2024 season.
Weaver set the program record in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.56 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships. While Weaver finished second in the race, he surpassed the previous PAC record with his run.
At the PAC Championships, his quartet set the program mark by over 18 seconds in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:45.63 to finish third.
Again, Weaver showed off his distance-running prowess by topping the program record by 38.47 seconds with his 9:02.23 3,000-meter run. He also set the program mark in the 1,000 meters by topping William Moder's 15-year old record with a 2:35.14 run.
Weaver now turns his sights to the spring outdoor season as he looks to duplicate his indoor success.
