Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston) was selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Lorne totaled 18 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 10 draw controls in two games last week. She also led the Jackets with four goals against Notre Dame (Md.).
Against Thiel, Lorne set Waynesburg's single-game ground ball record (14) and caused a dozen turnovers.
Lorne collected PAC Newcomer of the Week laurels on Feb. 26 and March 11. She leads NCAA Division III in ground balls per game (7.00) and caused turnovers per game (6.57). Lorne ranks seventh in the PAC with 4.89 draw controls per game and leads the Jackets in goals (20) and points (21).
Waynesburg hosts Chatham tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at John F. Wiley Stadium.
