PAC releases all-conference men's soccer teams

Johnson leads quartet of honorees as a first-team pick

TRAFFORD, Pa. (Nov. 12) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its all-conference men's soccer teams on Monday night. Waynesburg University was well-represented with four selections, which were revealed during a live stream from the PAC Sports Network.
 
Junior Zachary Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / Saint Joseph Central Catholic) became a two-time first-team all-conference honoree after finishing the year ranked third in the conference in goals (12) and second in total points (27). Johnson also picked up the accolade following his freshman season of 2023.
 
A pair of freshmen earned second-team All-PAC applause after outstanding debut seasons in Orange and Black.
 
John Engel (Dalla, Ga. / East Paulding) earned the accolade proved to be one of the league's top passers as he finished second in the conference with eight assists. Those helpers, combined with four goals, allowed him to place seventh in the PAC in total points with 16.
 
Classmate Deven Patel (Columbus, Ohio / St. Francis DeSales) wasted little time in winning the starting goalkeeper job and put forth some of the best PAC's best numbers in net. He finished fifth in goals against average (1.047), third in save percentage (.811), third in shutouts (6) and fourth in saves per game (4.28). Patel was named PAC Goalkeeper / Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29.
 
Last, but certainly not least, junior defender Gabe Bowman (Marietta, Ga. / Wheeler) was named honorable mention All-PAC. He led a Jacket defense that ranked fourth in the league with a 1.17 goals against average.
