GROVE CITY (April 16) – The Waynesburg University outdoor track & field teams headed north to compete in the Grove City Mini Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.
Natalie Double (Portersville, Pa. / Slippery Rock) captured the meet javelin title with a distance of 37.71 meters. Her mark is a personal record, the third-farthest in the PAC and second-farthest in the region.
Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, Md. / Watkins Mill) ran to a runner-up finish in the 200 (27.59) and the 400 (1:04.18). Her 200 time was a season-best and ranks top-15 in the PAC. RIshell also went on to post a season-best in the triple jump (9.95 meters) to take seventh and was 12th in the long jump at 4.43 meters.
Adam Helbling (McDonald, Pa. / South Fayette) was second in the triple jump (12.34 meters), fifth in the high jump (1.74 meters) and seventh in the long jump (5.93 meters).
John Stewart (Lancaster, Pa. / JP McCaskey) was third in the discus at 40.29 meters and seventh in the shot put (11.69 meters).
Liam Smith (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) placed fifth in the discus (30.57 meters) and set a personal record in the shot put (10.69 meters).
Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) was sixth in the shot put (12.26 meters).
Megan Barry (North Huntington, Pa. / Norwin) finished sixth in the javelin at 29.48 meters.
Reagan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern) crossed the finish line in 13:33.76 to place sixth in the 3k steeplechase.
Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) was eighth in the 5k in 16:11.33, the No. 6 outdoor 5k in program history.
Amber Sallee placed eighth in the 400 in 1:07.75.
Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends) set a PR in the 200 (24.93) and matched a personal record with a 6.05-meter-long jump.
Dagyn Williams (Leslie, Ark. / Marshall) was sixth in the 400 in 53.31.
The Jackets are sending a select group to West Virginia University's Mountaineer Twilight on Saturday.
