Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) was selected as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Harker swept meet titles in the shot put, discus and hammer throw at West Virginia University's Mountaineer Twilight on Saturday, setting program records in the outdoor shot put and hammer throw.
Harker set season-highs in all three events and a person record in the hammer throw. He posted a shot put of 14.73 meters, a discus mark of 40.70 meters and a hammer throw of 42.30 meters.
All three distances rank in the top-six in the PAC and appear in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings. Harker sits No. 1 in the PAC in the hammer throw, No. 3 in the shot put and sixth in discus. In the regional rankings, Harker is seventh in shot put, No. 19 in hammer and 25th in discus.
Harker and the Yellow Jackets return to WVU next week for the PAC Outdoor Championships on May 1-2.
