ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. (March 30) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team opened its spring season by attending the Geneva Spring Opener on Monday at Connoquenessing Country Club. The Jackets took third in the team standings with a four-man score of 336.
Senior
Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin) led Waynesburg with a score of 80 to place fifth overall in the 24-man field. Following close behind was sophomore
Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry), who carded an 81 to tie for sixth place. Sophomore
Braden Benke (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) tied for 10
th with an 83.
Sophomore
Brady Donovan (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Brentwood) placed 18
th by shooting an 81, while junior
Nate Barnhart (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) rounded out the Jacket golfers by tying for 23
rd with a 108.
The Waynesburg men are back on the course Monday, April 6,
, to compete in the Thiel Invitational at the Avalon at Buhl.
