GREENVILLE, Pa. (May 4) – The Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) announced its 2016 women's all-conference teams on Wednesday. Three Waynesburg players were among the list of yearly award winners.
Senior goalkeeper
JoHanna Phillips was named second-team All-ORLC after leading the league in saves for the second consecutive season. In 12 starts between the pipes in 2016, Phillips made 164 stops and boasted save percentage of 50.8, good for the second-highest mark in the conference.
Junior attacker
Holly Bachman and junior midfielder
Jess Rains earned honorable mention accolades. Bachman led Waynesburg with 35 goals, 37 total points and 73 shots. Her 22 ground balls gathered tied for fourth-most on the team. In three seasons with the Yellow Jackets, Bachman has tallied 99 career goals.
Rains trailed only Bachman in most of the Jackets' offensive categories. Her 44 ground balls and 33 draw controls were the top marks among Waynesburg players. In addition to her all-ORLC nod, Rains also received a spot on the ORLC Sportsmanship Team.
